ICYMI, Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) is taking place online this year after the fan-fueled event was canceled for the first time ever due to the coronavirus.
Thank goodness we live in the 21st century because Comic-Con@Home is bringing all the perks of the live show to our laptops and TV screens later this month. The virtual event is free for everyone, meaning you don’t have to fly to San Diego or wait on any lines (although it is possible you’ll have to wait online — I’ll explain that later).
Since it is the first time Comic-Con is taking on a virtual event of this scale, it can be a little hard to find all the info. That’s what we’re here for. Below are tips, panels you don’t want to miss, and which exclusives you should keep an eye out for.
What to Know
- The virtual event will take place from July 22-26
- Fans can access the exhibitors’ showroom online over the course of the “show.” On the floor, you’ll find company listings, exclusive products up for grabs, product links, and more. This post has all the links you may need, including exhibitors, the Artist’s Alley, the small press list, and the fan tables list.

- Marvel
- Marvel’s 616, July 23 at 1 p.m. PDT: Presented by Disney+, this panel will discuss the making of the upcoming anthology documentary that explores Marvel’s rich legacy. Creators Gillian Jacobs, Paul Scheer, Sarah Amos, and Jason Sterman will talk about making the series with moderator Angélique Roché.
- Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing, July 24 at 11 a.m. PDT: Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski breaks down the best of the newest creations coming from the House of Ideas. Joining him, Tom Brevoort, Al Ewing, and Dan Slot will talk about the Empyre; Jordan White, Tini Howard, and Gerry Duggan will fly us into the X-Men crossover event, X of Swords; and Nick Lowe, Nick Spencer, and Mark Bagley will spill the beans on Green Goblin’s return in Amazing Spider-Man No. 850. Nick Lowe will also join Taboo and Ben Jackendoff in discussing the comeback of Werewolf by Night.
- UPDATE: The New Mutants, July 23 at 2 p.m. PDT: In association with Twentieth Century Studios and Marvel Entertainment, the super-powered horror film’s stars and writer/director will talk about the movie that’s been delayed *forever*.

- Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe, July 25 at 12 p.m. PDT: Moooom, Phineas and Ferb are doing a Comic-Con panel! Fans of the cartoon series can catch a sneak peek of the upcoming film and a discussion from Dan Povenmire, Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, Bob Bowen, Ashley Tisdale, Vincent Martella, Maulik Pancholy, and Dee Bradley Baker.
- Blast Off with Disney+’s ‘The Right Stuff,’ July 25 at 1 p.m. EDT: The Right Stuff is the first scripted Disney+ original series from National Geographic, following the inspiring stories of some of the first Americans in space. The panel will be moderated by former-astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison and feature a discussion from the series’ cast members and creators.
- Archer, July 24 at 5 p.m. PDT: Join Aisha Tyler, Chris Parnell, Judy Greer, Lucky Yates, Amber Nash, and moderator Casey Willis for what’s sure to be an insane event.
- AMC
- The Walking Dead, time TBD: Moderated by Chris Hardwick, the panel will feature all of your fave creators and cast members from the series with a special look at the season finale of season 10, which will premiere as a standalone episode at a later date.
- Fear the Walking Dead, time TBD: Also moderated by Hardwick, the showrunners and cast members will discuss season 6 of the show.
- The Walking Dead: World Beyond, time TBD: The series will make its Comic-Con debut with a panel about the making of the show.
- The Still Not Done Walking Dead: Just kidding.
- NOS4A2, time TBD: Zachary Quinto joins moderator Clark Collis, Showrunner and Executive Producer Jami O’Brien, and Executive Producer Joe Hill in breaking all the news on the second season of the series.
- LGBTQ Representation on TV, time TBD: TV Guide Magazine will present a panel discussing the representation of nonbinary, extraordinary people on television. The magazine’s West Coast Bureau Chief Jim Halterman will moderate the panel which includes Jamie Chung (Once Upon A Time), Jamie Clayton (Roswell: New Mexico), Wilson Cruz (Star Trek: Discovery), Tatiana Maslany (Perry Mason, Orphan Black), Anthony Rapp (Star Trek: Discovery), J. August Richards (Council of Dads, Angel, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Harry Shum, Jr. (Shadowhunters), and Brian Michael Smith (9-1-1: Lone Star).
- What We Do in the Shadows, July 25 at 5 p.m. PST: FX presents Haley Joel Osment moderating the cast of this vampire series as they discuss being roommates for hundreds (and hundreds) of years.

- In Conversation with Robert Kirkman, time TBD: The Walking Dead creator will answer fan questions in this solo panel.
- Skybound Presents Comics & Creators, time TBD: Robert Kirkman, the creative minds behind Excellence, and more will come together to discuss their latest projects.
- Bill & Ted Face the Music, time TBD: This most-excellent panel, moderated by Kevin Smith, will feature Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves, Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine, William Sadler, Dean Parisot, Ed Solomon, and Chris Matheson probably just partying on, dudes.

- His Dark Materials, July 23 at 1 p.m. PDT: Moderator Stacey Wilson Hunt will host the panel, which includes Jane Tranter, Jack Thorne, Dafne Keen, Ruth Wilson, Ariyon Bakare, Amir Wilson, Andrew Scott, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The cast and crew of the drama series will discuss exclusive details on what to expect in season two. Fans can join the conversation with the hashtag #HisDarkMaterials.
- Lovecraft Country, July 25 at 4 p.m. PDT: Fans can join the cast of the upcoming horror drama series as they discuss what to expect from the show. To get in on the conversation, use the hashtag #LovecraftCountry during the panel.

- Close Enough, July 23 at 5 p.m. PDT: Cast and crew will chat about the cartoon series from the creator of Regular Show. The show focuses on the normal problems 30-somethings have: pursuing your dreams, work-life balance, and occasionally avoiding time-traveling snails.
- Adventure Time: Distant Lands – BMO, July 24 at 11 a.m. PDT: The voice actors and executive producer from the four special episodes of Adventure Time will get into detail on the first episode (which is already on HBO Max) and premiere a sneak peek of the second episode.
- Infinity Train, July 24 at 12 p.m. PDT: All aboard! Fans will get a look at the Book Three of the animated series.
- HBO Max Adult Animation Featuring ‘Robot Chicken’, ‘Final Space’, and ‘Primal/Samari Jack,’ July 24 at 3 p.m. PDT: Tune in to hear about some beloved adult cartoon creator’s favorite moments at SDCC.
- Looney Tunes Cartoons, July 26 at 1 p.m. PDT: The looniest gang is coming back to your TV screen and this panel will feature a premiere of an all-new cartoon.
- TBS
- American Dad, July 25 at 1 p.m. PDT: Learn to draw the out-of-this-world Roger Smith alongside some of the voice actors from the show as they discuss its current season and its upcoming 300th episode.
- Star Trek Universe, July 23 at 10 a.m. PDT: Fans can get a glimpse at what’s on the way in the always-expanding worlds of Star Trek in three back-to-back panels moderated by Dominic Patten, Deadline’s senior editor.
- In the first, the cast of Star Trek: Discovery will reprise their roles to do a table read of the episode “Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2.” It will be followed by a brief Q&A.
- The second panel will feature an extended first-look from the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks, which premieres on Aug. 6. Mike McMahan will moderate a conversation with the Starfleet crew residing under the U.S.S. Cerritos.
- Fans can join the cast of Star Trek: Picard — yes, even Patrick Stewart — as they chat about the series’ first season.
- Amazon Prime
- Truth Seekers, July 23 at 12 p.m. PDT: Fans will learn about the latest to horror-comedy to come straight from the creative brains behind Shaun of the Dead. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost will join James Serafinowicz and Nat Saunders to bring us more deets on the eight-part series about a team of paranormal investigators.
- Utopia, July 23 at 1 p.m. PDT: This new series follows a group of comic fans and their journey to save the world after they discover that a conspiracy in a graphic novel is real. Fans can join in on a Q&A about the show with executive producer Gillian Flynn and cast members including John Cusack and Rainn Wilson.
- Upload, July 23 at 2 p.m. PDT: At this panel, fans can expect to learn from the second season of the sci-fi show about the afterlife from the creator, executive producer, and director Greg Daniels as well as stars of the series.
- IDW Publishing, in addition to more than a dozen convention-exclusive variants, such as My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic #1 and Locke & Key: Small World Deluxe Edition and more than two-dozen signed bookplate editions of graphic novels, IDW Publishing will host eight panels, which fans can preregister for to be alerted with the link when it goes live.
- G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes, July 23 at 2 p.m. PDT: Fans can join comic-creator Rob Liefeld as he gives a first look on his version of the character with moderator Jim Viscardi.
- The Science of ‘Back to the Future,’ July 23 at 3 p.m. PDT: How do hoverboards work? Why is 88 miles-per-hour the optimal speed for time travel? Members from the Fleet Science Center join IDW to possibly discuss these questions and definitely get into the science of how Back to the Future could work. Those who tune into this event will also get a special first-look at the Back to the Future and Transformers comic collaboration.
- Jim Lee’s X-Men Artist’s Edition Spotlight, July 25 at 12 p.m PDT: Fans will get the inside scoop on the latest Artist Edition book which features work by Jim Lee.
- IDW in 2020 and Beyond, July 25 at 2 p.m. PDT: Chris Ryall IDW president, publisher, and chief creative officer Chris Ryall and editor-in-chief
John Barber bring a behind-the-scenes look at everything fans can expect to see in the next few months. The panel is moderated by George Gene Gustines, a senior editor at The New York Times. - The four other panels from IDW are Draw a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle!,
