Sonic-inspired collegiate clothing and accessories? Yes please! | Source: Rowing Blazers

Embrace your Sonic fandom and the Ivy League aesthetic — sans college coursework or questionable dining hall food!

Rowing Blazers, a clothing brand that reimagines preppy must-haves with a sportswear and streetwear edge, is collaborating with SEGA of America to make Blue Blur-inspired apparel and accessories. The company’s latest capsule collection combines timeless ‘90s Sonic the Hedgehog graphics with Rowing Blazers’ all-gender pieces.

A highlight of this new collection is an intarsia-knit cotton sweater featuring a Sonic graphic and made with a knitting pattern adapted from a ‘90s knitting book. The top’s contrasting colorway of black, yellow, and white makes Sonic’s signature cerulean blue really pop.

This commitment to embracing retro design permeates the entire collection. Other pieces include heavyweight rugby jerseys, French terry loopback hooded sweatshirts, cotton T-shirts, mesh shorts, and zip-up polar fleeces. There are also Sonic-inspired accessories — including baseball caps, neckties, patches, and a classic tote bag — that all blend the prep-school aesthetic with nostalgic Sonic flare.

Sonic’s laissez-faire and punk persona motivated Rowing Blazers Founder and Creative Director Jack Carlson — who grew up playing the Sonic games — to create this capsule collection. While he notes that Sonic isn’t typically associated with an Ivy League look, the collection strives to embrace the fun irony of it all.

The collection launches today, Sept. 29, at rowingblazers.com, with prices ranging from $38-325.
