Calling all Trekkers!

In the 1990s, Playmates Toys was THE name in Star Trek toys and collectibles, and now they’re back!

Following last year’s news that ViacomCBS inked a deal with Playmates for an extensive new range of action figures, vehicles, and role-play items, the first wave of Star Trek Universe products — set for release in July — has been revealed.

No word on Quark or the Tribbles, but they might show up.

Star Trek Universe is a franchise-spanning affair that will include new, shelf-worthy items for play and display. Playmates Toys is beaming up inspiration from the 13 movies and 11 live-action TV series, so no matter which Trek is your Trek, there should be something you’ll dig! At its core, the line will include new action figures in the classic, 5-inch 1:14-scale form. Each figure will include 14 points of articulation and come in either nostalgic or modern packaging, depending on the character.

STAR TREK UNIVERSE — WAVE 1

  • Admiral James T. Kirk, Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (nostalgic packaging)

Now, we here at the Pop Insider don’t necessarily know what future waves may include, but Playmates says that more figures are set for release next year. I’m gonna need a Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra set with Picard and Dathon at El-Adrel. If you know, you know.
