If you love the Pandemic games but want something a little less disease-themed for these times, get ready for the newest spin on the popular tabletop system… in a galaxy far, far away!

Z-Man Games, makers of the original Pandemic series, are teaming up with Lucasfilm to bring us Star Wars: The Clone Wars — A Pandemic System Game. The Pandemic system has already been applied to other settings, such as in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu, and Pandemic: Fall of Rome. Now it’s coming to the beloved world of Star Wars.

Instead of warding off a public health crisis, players take on the role of Jedi to defend the Republic in the time of the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars show. Players choose from characters such as Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, with each Jedi getting a different Force ability.

The game is perfect for fans of Star Wars and cooperative gameplay. Cooperative tabletop games are unique from other board games because instead of working against other players to win individually, you all work together for a shared victory (perfect for those of us who are tired of intensely competitive family game nights). And if you’re feeling like a game but can’t rally the buds, Star War: The Clone Wars — A Pandemic System Game also offers single-player gameplay.

There are four scenarios that players can go through in the game, each featuring a powerful Sith leader to defeat, such as General Grievous or Asajj Ventress. Take down the Separatists and protect the Republic as you navigate to favorite Star Wars locations, such as Coruscant, Mandalore, and more.

The game features a colorful board full of Star Wars planets, illustrated cards, and miniatures of Jedi, Sith, droids, and ships. It’s available to preorder now for $59.99 at the Asmodee online store, with a release date of Sept. 30. It is scheduled to launch at Target this month and at additional retailers on Oct. 1.
