The first trailer for the upcoming animated LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special is here and, let me tell you, it looks like a BLAST.
In the two-minute trailer, fans get a first look at what to expect in this Disney+ special, which reunites Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie, Rose, and the droids for a feast on Life Day.
In the special, Rey sets off on a new adventure with BB-8 to learn more about the Force. Then, at a Jedi Temple, she ends up in a cross-timeline adventure that drops her at beloved moments throughout Star Wars history. This means we get to see Rey interact with a host of fan-favorite characters, from a young Luke Skywalker and Yoda to Darth Vader and even (gasp) The Child in all of his LEGO cuteness.
The trailer is packed with funny moments, such as Palpatine getting — and promptly rejecting — a “Galaxy’s Best Emperor” mug and Darth Vader trying to backtrack when he accidentally calls Luke his son a bit too early in the timeline. And it’s all set to jaunty holiday music, which just adds a little something.
The special also brings back some Star Wars franchise stars to reprise their roles, including Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian), and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO).
Check out the full trailer below, and tune in for the full special when it starts streaming on Disney+ on Nov. 17.
