If you think the stories of the galaxy far, far away are over and done, I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Two new manga from Yen Press, in collaboration with LucasFilm, explore familiar stories in brand new ways, both taking place before A New Hope began. Each will be available in the fall to bring a whole new perspective to the universe.
Star Wars Leia, Princess of Alderaan is a manga adaptation of the YA novel written by Claudia Gray featuring art by Haruichi Furudate. It explores the untold story of how Leia joined the rebellion against the Empire. Leia had always been someone who helps those in need, but after discovering her parents’ secrets, the princess must decide between ruling Alderaan or saving the galaxy.
Star Wars Rebels, with story and art from Akira Aoki, adapts of the 3D animated series of the same name on Disney XD into manga form. The story is set in the time when the Galactic Empire was searching for the last of the Jedi near the planet Lothal. The Empire sets its sights on Ezra, a teenager with the power of the Force; Kanan, a surviving member of the Jedi Order; and a whole bunch of rebels aboard a ship called Ghost.
Both stories promise new ways to fall in love with the universe and will continue as ongoing series.
