Welcome to a new era of Star Wars storytelling.
Today, the first Star Wars: The High Republic books make their debut, kicking off a multimedia program — including books, magazines, and comics — set 200 years before the events of The Phantom Menace.
Yesterday, Lucasfilm held an event to tease some of the content and characters that will appear in these new titles, which are billed as an “interconnected mega story.”
Starting today, fans can read three new The High Republic books: Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule, A Test of Courage by Justina Ireland, and The Great Jedi Rescue by Cavan Scott. These titles are designed for a variety of ages and all introduce new characters to the Star Wars universe.
Tomorrow, Marvel Comics will release the first issue of its Star Wars: The High Republic comic series, written by Scott and featuring art by Ario Anindito and Phil Noto.
This is just the start for the High Republic tale, as new titles will join the first wave of books and comics early next month.
