For those still mourning the end of The Mandalorian‘s second season (and still thinking about that big reveal — don’t worry, no spoilers here), Disney+ has you covered with even more Star Wars content coming out next year, this time centered around the galaxy’s most infamous bounty hunter.
Yes, Boba Fett is officially getting his own spin-off series on Disney+. Teased in a surprise, post-credits scene following the intense finale of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett will star Temuera Morrison in the titular role, with Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. Like the upcoming Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic series, this show will take place within The Mandalorian timeline.
Executive Producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will join Robert Rodriguez — who directed Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian — for the project.
First appearing in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in 1980, Boba Fett has become a Star Wars fan-favorite character. While the original actor behind the iconic armor, Jeremy Bulloch, recently passed away, his legacy will live on through a new story for the character.
The Book of Boba Fett is set to premiere next December. Season three of The Mandalorian will also go into production next year.
