Alright, Funko. We’re toppling our Kings, you win.
Yesterday, Funko revealed three new Pop! figures inspired by the incredibly popular Netflix limited series The Queen’s Gambit, which follows the life of fictional chess prodigy Beth Harmon.
While the figures won’t actually ship until June, they are available to preorder now for $10.99 each and showcase Beth in different stages of her chess journey.
First, there is a young Beth holding her chess trophies when she is being photographed for LIFE magazine in episode 3. The second figure features Beth in the green dress she wears in the show’s opening moments and in episode 6, for her rematch with Borgov in Paris. This figure is also holding a rook. Finally, there is a figure of Beth dressed in the white winter ensemble she dons for the finale, when she’s in the park after… okay, I won’t spoil it here in case you haven’t watched the show. (But if you haven’t, you should.)
Other than the novel that the show is based on — and chess sets in general, which have seen a major sales spike since the series’ debut — these figures appear to be the first merch available for The Queen’s Gambit. Which of the three is your favorite? Tell us in the comments!
