Every month, a full moon rises, and so do werewolves. The beastly creatures are heading to The Sims 4 with a new game pack from EA and Maxis launching this month.

The story takes place in Moonwood Mill, a formerly bustling lumber mill town along the river. It’s a place with a hidden history and if you dig deep enough, you might just discover some secrets. During the full moon, the crescent-shaped Lake Lunvik gets a magical shimmer to it, making it the perfect time for players to try to catch the elusive Luna Fish or climb up to the Howling Point over the lake to pluck the even rarer Moonpetal flower. Players can explore the tunnels that run under the town to uncover secrets and find quicker routes to navigate back and forth. The town’s pack members are also always up for sparring at the pit.

All of the werewolves start with a beast and a Sim form that are linked, matching up the changes to body shape, clothing, and facial features to the other form — or players can create a beast of their own. Either way, players can edit their face structure, ears, eyes, tufts, and more, including painting on scars, making their fur more wild, or even covering them in jellyfish. A werewolf can be fierce, playful, dramatic, cuddly, or whatever players want it to be to tell their own story.

Moonwood Mill features two distinct wolf packs: the Moonwood Collective, a pack of seasoned, rustic werewolves that value tradition, community, and self-control; and the Wildfangs, a more rebellious and free-spirited set of werewolves that value self-improvement, self-acceptance, and punk and grunge aesthetics. To join either crew, players can visit their hangout and get on good terms with the pack. Complete the Alpha’s challenges and you’re in, but joining either pack has obligations, a hierarchy, and dos and don’ts. You may even become the Alpha one day.

Werewolves can grow their powers to unlock new abilities, such as running on all fours, marking their territory, lunar resistance, and immortality. But werewolves also have fury, which is constantly growing — even more so when they use werewolf powers, spar with other werewolves, hang out in beast form, go under the full moon, or exhibit behavior that conflicts with their temperaments. Once maximum fury is reached, the werewolf will transform.

Players can also interact with the local Sims to find out more about werewolf history and philosophy, unravel truths at the local library, or head to the Grimtooth Bar and Bunker for drinks and food.

The Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack is available for preorder now with an official launch on June 16 for PC and Mac via Origin, and Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One systems.
