Remember when Pokémon Go was a thing and everyone in the world got along for a few months while roaming the streets, trying to capture some Pikachus together? We’re getting another shot at world peace—but this time with a mobile game based on AMC’s The Walking Dead.
AMC and Next Games are launching The Walking Dead: Our World on July 12 as an app available to iOS and Android users.
The game is location-based, a la Pokémon Go, so players will be able to move their avatars by walking around in the real world, but instead of catching cute little Pokémon, players will be able to fight walkers on the streets, at the park, or in their living rooms, just like in The Walking Dead.
Players can also use the augmented reality mobile game to find missions, rescue survivors, discover stashes, and team up with other users to complete weekly challenges. While viewers of the show know that no character’s survival is guaranteed, fans can hold on tight to their favorites by collecting characters like Rick Grimes, Daryl, and Michonne to fight by their side in the game.
