In case you missed it, Wonder Woman is celebrating eight decades of pop culture influence this year! DC kicked off a year-long celebration to commemorate the powerful female hero back in March, but there are even more updates and events in store — Especially with Wonder Woman Day coming up on Oct. 21.
To start where this iconic character started, let’s talk comics. There are multiple new titles to celebrate Wonder Woman, starting with Wonderful Women of the World, an anthology (available now) that showcases 23 trailblazing women around the world who embody the same values as Princess Diana of Themyscira. Fans can also get their hands on Wonder Woman: 80 Years of the Amazon Warrior. This book clocks in at more than 400 pages and follows the character from her first appearance through some of her most incredible comic book battles. On Oct. 5, fans can get the Wonder Woman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular, which features a collection of original stories and art from various comic book creators in a tribute anthology. Two anticipated Wonder Woman comic book series are also dropping this fall: Nubia and the Amazons and Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons.
While there is a lot of Wonder Woman merch to collect for your bookshelf, there are also plenty of products to shop for your closet! Some of the anniversary collaborations that are available to shop now in the U.S. include EleVen’s “I am Wonder Woman” activewear line, Zales’ collection of Wonder Woman jewelry, and a selection of apparel from the DC Shop. Soon, there will also be a collection of Wonder Woman-branded apparel and fitness equipment from Echelon, including a Lasso of Truth jump rope!
Some additional Wonder Woman celebrations include a new statue of the character coming to Burbank, California, next year and the induction of Wonder Woman into the Comic-Con Museum’s Character Hall of Fame on Oct. 21. The virtual induction ceremony will be available to watch on the Comic-Con Museum YouTube channel.
