The final season of Game of Thrones is just days away, and HBO has given us very little footage so far. Apparently, there will be one — and only one — sanctioned preview clip for the show. It’s airing a whopping 2 hours before the actual episode as part of a Game of Thrones special on 60 Minutes.
To be more precise, the clip shows part of the season’s opening scene and will debut at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday. The 60 Minutes episode will also feature Anderson Cooper’s interviews with the show’s cast, producers, and creator.
According to a description of the episode from 60 Minutes, Cooper gets a tour of a warehouse in Northern Ireland “containing almost every prop and costume from the series, stored like artifacts in a museum of Game of Thrones.” His tour guide? Jon Snow (Kit Harington), of course. Later in the episode, Cooper also visits Castle Black and interviews George R.R. Martin, Dan Weiss, David Benioff, Emilia Clarke, and Peter Dinklage.
Tune in to CBS 9 on Sunday to catch the clip and behind-the-scenes footage. It’ll help kill some time as you wait for the episode to drop, or it could be great background content for your Game of Thrones viewing party.
