After brutal battles, upsetting defeats, and triumphant victors, this weekend’s WrestleMania 35 saw shocking winners after intense matches in front of MetLife Stadium’s at-capacity crowd of 82,265 attendees.
During the highly anticipated event, fans saw big names conquer the notable battles. In a Winner-Take-All Match to capture the Raw and SmackDown Women’s titles, Becky Lynch triumphed over her fellow competitors. Kofi Kingston won his first WWE Championship title by defeating Daniel Bryan, and Seth Rollins shockingly conquered “The Beast” Brock Lesnar to take the Universal title.
Additionally, following a No-Holds-Barred grudge match in which he lost, Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista announced his retirement from the wrestling ring on Twitter.
@WWEUniverse Thank you for letting me entertain you. I love this business and whether you cheered me or jeered me, I’m grateful for being a small part of your life. I am officially retired from sports entertainment and I am grateful for every second of my amazing journey ✌🏼

The event also saw a record number of fans in attendance. WWE announced that Wrestlemania 35 broke MetLife Stadium’s record for its highest-grossing entertainment event. The annual wrestling event grossed $16.9 million, WWE revealed, which surpassed its 2013 record at Wrestlemania 29. The 35th annual extravaganza saw a sold-out crowd of 82,265 fans watching what happened in the ring.
“We are thrilled that WrestleMania’s return to WWE’s ‘front yard’ delivered incredible results,” WWE Executive Vice President of Special Events John Saboor says in a statement. “This would not have been possible without the tireless support of Governor Murphy and our public and private sector partners throughout the New York and New Jersey region. We now turn our attention to next year, where WrestleMania will make a historic Tampa Bay debut.”
Next year’s Wrestlemania 36 takes place on Sunday, April 5 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida.
