Holy reboots, Batman! CBS just announced its Fall 2018 lineup and there’s a whopping five reboots in the works. Magnum P.I and Murphy Brown join the present lineup of reboots, including Hawaii Five-O, S.W.A.T, and MacGyver.
CBS president, Kelly Kahl noted at a New York press conference, “We have five remakes, but we also have plenty of new stuff as well. Shows that are big loud and noisy and that are creatively terrific, those are the shows we’re going to want to continue to do moving forward.”
New sitcoms, The Neighborhood (starring Max Greenfield) and Happy Together are slated for the new season as well, along with dramedy God Friended Me, which is about an atheist who gets friended by God. #awkward
Fans of NCIS, Survivor, Seal Team, Criminal Minds, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Mom, Blue Bloods, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Madame Secretary can rest easy knowing their favorite shows escaped the network chopping block. However, Kevin Can Wait, Living Biblically, Me, Myself, and I, Scorpion, and Superior Donuts did not meet the same fate.
But, never fear! With the current obsession with rebooting series, maybe one of them will turn into a cult classic that gets renewed in 20 years. Stranger things have happened.
