Tomorrow will be the 50th Earth Day and while Earth is a little weird right now, The Walt Disney Co. won’t let a pandemic get in the way of celebrating.
The company has a variety of plans throughout its brands to honor Mother Earth with specialized programming from National Geographic, Disney+, FX, Freeform, ABC, and Disney Channel. New content will also be released from Disney Parks, Experiences and Products; the Disney Conservation Fund (DCF); and the Official Disney Fan Club.
Throughout April, fans can unite through social media by using the hashtag #DisneyMagicofNature and then head to the Disney Parks Blog where Disney lovers and animal fanatics alike can celebrate the world around us. This week the blog is ramping up the animal and conservation-inspired content.
DCF is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Earth Day as well. To honor the milestone the charity foundation released a digital photo book about its conservation efforts. Check it out here. For more exclusive content, members of the Official Disney Fan Club can find recipes for vegan dishes from the Disney Parks at D23.com alongside some behind-the-scenes looks at Disneynature’s Dolphin Reef.
For your planet-sized binging needs, two Earth Month-themed series on Disney+ will drop and FX is running an Earth Day-inspired movie marathon today until 2 a.m. EST. Freeform will celebrate with Earth-themed episodes of The Simpsons, as well as screenings of The Lorax, Ice Age, and The Jungle Book.
We may not be able to visit the greatest place on Earth, but we can celebrate the world just the same.
