As most of the country is preparing turkey and Black Friday shopping lists, some fans and pop-culture companies are gearing up for another big event this weekend: Comic-Con Special Edition.
This three-day show is scheduled to kick off at the San Diego Convention Center this Friday, Nov. 26. It is a smaller version of Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC), but there is still a lot for fans to know about and explore. We’ve gathered some of the must-know info, whether you are attending in-person, still hoping to snag tickets, or looking to snag some exclusives from the comfort of home.
Can I still buy tickets?
Yep! Information for ticket sales is available at this web page. Tickets cost $150 and you’ll need a Comic-Con ID — which you can get for free on the same site — to purchase them. (Note: The show also has a COVID-19 policy that includes face masks and showing proof of vaccination or a recent negative test. Click here for details about the health and safety measures.)
What is going to be at the show?
Like traditional SDCC, Special Edition will feature a show floor full of exhibitors and artists (check out the full list here) along with a schedule of panels. While batches of A-list celebs won’t be in Hall H this time around, there are still plenty of things worth checking out at the show. Highlights include:
- Exclusives:Â Quite a few companies have revealed some Comic-Con Special Edition exclusives that will be available only on the show floor! Check out the Figpin (Booth 1841) exclusives here; the Funko exclusives here; and head to Toynk (Booths 1133 and 2441) to buy four exclusives by SalesOne, including a replica of the Uni-Mind bracelet from Eternals.
- Disguise Panel: Scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, in Room 7AB, this panel will offer fans a look at Disguise’s new Funko Pop! Masks and Ghostbusters costume and accessory lines. Audience members will get a Stay Puft Funko Pop! Mask to take home.
- The Gundam Base San Diego Pop-Up:Â For the first time, Gundam Base is coming to the U.S! Fans can visit this pop-up at booth 1805 throughout the show. The booth will recreate elements from The Gundam Base Tokyo and The Gundam Base Fukuoka flagship stores in Japan, with more than 150 model kits on display and exclusive kits available to purchase.
Is there anything I can do from home?
If you aren’t planning to attend Comic-Con Special Editon in person, there are still a few ways you can stay involved. While there isn’t an official virtual component to this convention, you can follow along on social media with the hashtag #CCSE to see what attendees and exhibitors are saying about the show.
You can also check out a virtual Art Show on the Comic-Con site and shop the selection of official CCSE merchandise at comic-con.shop.
