Sanrio’s beloved characters are already known to be purr-fectly sweet, but these characters are undergoing a tasty transformation.
Mighty Jaxx’s Kandy x Sanrio blind box collection will feature seven Sanrio characters (including one rare character) as 4-inch vinyl figures, including Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Pompompurin, Badtz-Maru, Keroppi, and Cinnamaroll.
Each figure in this collection is inspired by a favorite sweet treat and features a clear candy-colored half that depicts a dissected version of the character (think skeleton and organs) . The other half of each figure displays the classic character designs. Collectors can get their hands on a half-pastel pink bubblegum My Melody, a partially golden-sweet caramel Pompompurin, and more.
The figures are sculpted by Jason Freeny, offering a new take on his anatomy-inspired Hidden Dissectibles collections, which have offered an inside look at characters from Care Bears, My Little Pony, Garfield, and more.
Series 01 of the Kandy x Sanrio collection will be available for purchase beginning on May 25 at the Mighty Jaxx website. The figures will cost $12.99 per blind box or $74.99 for a tray of six boxes.
