If you’re curious to know how certain Stranger Things characters lived before the appearance of Eleven, you’ll have the opportunity to find out starting next March. The stage play Stranger Things: The First Shadow is opening at the Marquis Theatre in New York City in the spring.
The play is set in the familiar town of Hawkins, Indiana in 1959. Audience members will follow as a young Jim Hopper deals with car issues while Bob Newby’s sister disregards her siblings radio show and Joyce Maldonado approaches graduation. You’ll be present when a new student — Henry Creel — shows up and chaos unfolds.
The show, written by Kate Trefry, is an original story by Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer (and they are credited as Creative Producers), so you can expect it to capture your interest and your heart. The show is currently running at the Phoenix Theatre in London — the spring production will mark the show’s U.S. premiere.
The first preview performance is on March 28, and Opening Night is on April 22. The show is 2 hours and 45 minutes, including one intermission for you to find grab a drink, stretch, and grab merch.
