Bazooka Bubble Gum has always been a classic, nostalgic treat. Now, the bubble gum brand teaming up with young artists to pay homage to its legacy.
The new Bazooka art comes in all forms: The twin fashion designers BruceGlen designed a comic-tile puffer jacket that features Bazooka Joe. Duro the Third hand-assembled a Bazooka BMX bike, while Happy Rugs founder Madeline Ronzoni designed a Bazooka Joe rug. TikToker Matt Chessco created a Bazooka graffiti-style painting.
“Bazooka has solidified its place in pop culture with over 70 years of iconic packaging, and Bazooka Joe and the gang comics,” says Rebecca Silberfarb, vice president of brand marketing at Bazooka Candy Brands. “Now, our fanbase will get to experience the brand through a new lens as these four artistic trendsetters celebrate our legacy by combining nostalgia and pop culture with contemporary art.”
On Bazooka’s Instagram, @therealbazookajoe, you can check out videos on the making of each piece and the artists behind them. The art will be shown and auctioned off at the Make-A-Wish Dreaming In Color Art Show and Auction on April 27 to support young artists and grant wishes to critically ill children.
