This summer, Airbnb is giving fans of the Smurfs a once-in-a-blue-moon getaway. And the best part? It’s totally free!
In honor of the Smurfs’ return to the big screen, Airbnb is inviting two lucky families to shrink to three apples tall and live a day like a Smurf in the Belgian forest. Hosted by Nicolas Tytgat, the grandson of Smurfs creator Peyo, fans will spend four hours at Papa Smurf’s mushroom hut honing their Smurf skills for the upcoming film. The experience will be available to book on Airbnb starting July 16 for everyone except Gargamel.
On Aug. 3, the two chosen families will enter the enchanting woods and immerse themselves in the Smurfs’ colorful, wacky world. Tytgat will lead guests through a typical day in the life of the silly blue creatures, including making their own hats, archery, and a delicious open-air picnic brimming with Smurf-worthy snacks. After they eat, guests will take to the stage (or the stump) and learn a dance from the new film. If leaving gives you the blues, don’t worry! Fans will get to keep their goodies forever and even snag a Smurfberry ice cream cone for the road.
Reservations will be available for two groups of up to four people, each with their own 4-hour experience. Although travel is not included, the experience, activities, and treats are all completely free of charge. Fans can book their Smurf-style staycation starting July 16 at airbnb.com/smurfsmovie.
