Attention all retro gamers: A modern version of Atari 400 allows users to rewind time … literally.
Classic gaming console company Atari launched THE400 Mini, a half-sized version of the original Atari 400 from 1979, for $119.99 on Atari’s website.
Video game developer Retro Games and its distributor PLAION brought the re-creation to life, which is available for pre-order today in the U.S., and will ship on March 28.
THE400 Mini is compatible with games made for the 8-bit range of Atari computers, as well as the Atari 5200 home console. It matches the distinct colors and plastic textures of the original, maintaining a 1970s style.
This console is complete with an 8-button CX40 joystick and 25 pre-installed games including Berzerk, Lee, Millipede, Miner 2049er, M.U.L.E., and Star Raiders II. It also supports cartridge, disk and cassette compatibility, USB ports, and HDMI. And, if players get stuck in a game, THE400 Mini offers the ability to rewind.
