Transformers prequel Bumblebee  achieved the top aggregate score for the franchise on Rotten Tomatoes.

The live-action film, premiering in theaters tomorrow, scored a 93-percent “fresh” rating from critics, giving it 83 “fresh” critic reviews along with six “rotten” ones. The yellow Transformer also earned an average critical rating of 7.1 out of 10.

Transformers: The Last Knight from 2017 earned the lowest score in the franchise, with a 15-percent rotten score and an average rating of 3.3 out of 10. The third sequel Transformers: Age of Extinction from 2014 scored 18 percent with an average rating of 4.8 out of 10.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon from 2011 scored 35 percent with an average rating of 4.8 out of 10, while Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen from 2009 a 19-percent rotten score with an average rating of 3.9 out of 10.

The initial Transformers film, which debuted the movie franchise in 2007, scored 57 percent rotten with an average rating of 5.8 out of 10.

The Rotten Tomatoes score this latest Transformers addition received match with its ratings on IGN and Metacritic. IGN gave Bumblebee a review score of 7.0 out of 10 while Metacratic gave it a 68 rating.

Travis Knight, known for the animated film Kubo and the Two Strings, directed Bumblebee—the first of the franchise Michael Bay didn’t lead, according to The Verge

True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld leads the ensemble of the movie set in the 1980s.
