In 2020, Ms. Lady Gaga rained on all of us with her energetic and ambitious sixth studio album, Chromatica. Though it’s been two years, we can speak for most music lovers when we say we’re not over it. And apparently, neither is Crunchyroll.
In an unexpected — which is to say, traditional Gaga — collaboration, global anime brand Crunchyroll is launching a line of Chromatica streetwear apparel that is as fierce as the Mother Monster herself. Part of the ongoing “Crunchyroll Loves” line, this collection features a range of T-shirts, long sleeves, joggers, and hats, the collection draws inspiration from the record with a mix of strong color palettes and detailed artwork.
An anime-style depiction of Gaga sporting the pink-and-red body armor from the album cover is printed on nearly every piece in the collection. The CR Loves Lady Gaga Hoodie, for example, displays the cartoon image across the backside of a forest green sweatshirt, while the same image in black-and-white adorns the Monochrome Chromatica Sweatpants. For a more subtle Gaga moment (though, that’s sort of an oxymoron) the Chromatica Eyes Bucket Hat features zoomed-in, manga imagery of the musician’s eyes stitched onto a black, cotton hat.
Presale for the Crunchyroll x Lady Gaga line is live now, exclusively at store.crunchyroll.com. Prices range from $29.95-74.95, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Born This Way Foundation, a nonprofit organization co-founded by Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta. Preorders will only be open until April 21, so blast some Chromatica and grab your wallet asap.
