Every hero needs a villain, and Ruby Rose has found hers. Rose is playing Kate Kane in The CW’s new Batwoman pilot, and she now has someone to fight against. Rachel Skarsten will play the villainous Alice, inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.
In the comics, Kane has an allegedly dead twin sister named Elizabeth Kane, who goes by the codenames Alice and Red Alice. Elizabeth is actually still alive and grows up to become one of the criminal leaders of Gotham City.
Avid watchers of The CW might recognize Skarsten as Queen Elizabeth on Reign or Dinah Lance on 2002’s Birds of Prey (throwback to when The CW was The WB). She also had a role on season two of Bravo’s Imposters and played Andrea, Christian Grey’s assistant in Fifty Shades of Grey.
Skarsten announced the news on her Instagram with a screenshot of a Deadline article and a caption that says, “Just call me Alice.”
