D23 Expo 2022 is just around the corner, which begs the question — what will the Mouse be bringing to your house this upcoming year? Although the ultimate Disney fan event promises lots of exciting new trailers and entertainment reveals, here at the Pop Insider we’re most excited about the merch and experiences.
The Disney Parks and Experiences Wonderful World of Dreams pavilion will invite visitors to step into the new stories, attractions, and adventures that Disney Imagineers are creating for parks around the world. Attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look at the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction that’s coming to Disneyland Resort and Disney World Resort, EPCOT’s new look, new Frozen-themed experiences, and more. Whew!
Later in the Expo, Josh D’Amaro — Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products chairman — will take the stage for A Boundless Future: Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products. This presentation will reveal new details of a variety of Disney products.
Of course, there will also be tons of merch to purchase at the show. D23 Expo will have new and limited-edition products from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, as well as items that celebrate Disney100 and D23 Expo. Fans can visit the D23 Expo Marketplace for an immersive retail experience with products from shopDisney.com and Disney Parks. Additionally, the Walt Disney Imagineering Mickey’s of Glendale shop will return to D23 Expo this year with three unique retail spaces: Mickey’s of Glendale Main Store, Mickey’s of Glendale Pin Store, and D23 Expo Shop x Mickey’s of Glendale.
Last but certainly not least, guests at D23 will also have the opportunity to get first access to DisneyMe, a new digital avatar system in the Play Disney Parks app. This new technology will allow visitors to express their Disney style by creating their own virtual DisneyMe character.
And to celebrate the launch of DisneyMe as part of Disney Uncharted Adventure on the Disney Wish cruise ship, guests will be invited on a quest that can only be completed during the Expo. Visitors can find specially designed Disney Wish and D23 Expo digital clothing and accessories for their DisneyMe around the show floor.
