Showrunner Greg Berlanti is a master of DC TV adaptations and they just keep coming.
Today, Warner Media announced all the deets for its new streaming service, HBO Max, including a slew of new programs, which will feature original new DC shows from Berlanti Productions. The new platform will be the exclusive home to a DC anthology series titled Strange Adventures and a Green Lantern-inspired show.
“Both of these original DC properties we’ll be creating for HBO Max will be unlike anything seen on television,” Berlanti says in a statement. “An anthology series of cautionary tales set in a world where superpowers exist, and, in what promises to be our biggest DC show ever made, we will be going to space with a Green Lantern television series, but I can’t reveal any more about that just yet.”
Strange Adventures, a DC superhero anthology series, will focus on characters across the DC canon and explore close-ended morality takes about the intersecting lives of mortals and superhumans, according to the press release. Berlanti and producing partner Sarah Schechter will executive produce the new series, alongside writer and showrunner John Stephens (Gotham, Gossip Girl). The Green Lantern-inspired series, from Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, will be based on characters from the famed DC comic.
