DC Comics launched DC Universe this weekend, a digital subscription service for all things DC.
For $7.99 per month or $74.99 annually, DC lovers can get access to digital comics, TV shows, movies, and more. The platform doesn’t contain the entire backlog of DC films and shows, but it will offer some classics, such as Batman: The Animated Series and the Wonder Woman TV series, both in HD.
The platform will also contain exclusive content. There will be member-exclusive merchandise for sale through the app and a DC Encyclopedia, as well as original shows and movies. A new live-action Titans is scheduled for release this fall, with Young Justice: Outsiders, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Stargirl, and Harley Quinn following in 2019.
In addition to reading, streaming, and shopping, fans can also use the app to connect with fellow DC fans through discussion forums.
The service has been available for pre-order since July, but the full site launched this weekend to correspond with Batman Day. To celebrate the launch, there will be special Batman-themed content available throughout September, as well as 30 days of giveaways for members.
