The Titans, a weekly show for the DC Universe subscription streaming site about young superheroes finding their way, cast actor Esai Morales as Deathstroke, the assassin and nemesis of Teen Titans leader Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites).
The Titans team is made up of Grayson (aka Robin, Batman’s sidekick), Starfire (Anna Diop), Raven (Teagan Croft), and Beast Boy (Ryan Potter). The characters were created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez and were introduced in DC Comics in the ‘80s.
DC Comics describes Deathstroke/Slade Wilson as a military man who was recruited to participate in highly dangerous classified missions. “Willing to do whatever he could to better himself, Slade underwent an experimental procedure that granted him enhanced speed, strength, and intelligence, effectively making him the world’s greatest soldier.” After his special ops team disbanded, a bitter Wilson became a mercenary-for-hire, becoming “the world’s greatest assassin and one of the most feared people on the planet.”
Morales was in Criminal Minds, Ozark, Chicago P.D., How to Get Away with Murder, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
