It’s been nearly 13 years since James Cameron’s Avatar first landed in movie theaters and became a box office sensation. Now, the original movie is poised to return to theaters this weekend ahead of its long-awaited sequel, The Way of the Water, which hits theaters on Dec. 16.
Just in time for this return to the world of Pandora, Disguise — the costume division of Jakks Pacific — is releasing a new collection of costumes and costume accessories inspired by the franchise, made for adult fans. And here at The Pop Insider, we have a closer look at the lineup!
The new line includes two costumes for the Na’vi character Neytiri. The Avatar Neytiri Classic Adult version ($29.97) is available in sizes S-XL and features a jumpsuit with an attached tail and Na’vi detailing — including imagery of a choker and necklace on the front. This set also has a belted skirt and a pair of vinyl ears to complete the look. The second option is a Neytiri Deluxe Adult costume ($49.97) which also includes the vinyl ears and a jumpsuit but adds an attached beaded necklace and choker, a slightly different belted skirt, and an arm guard. It is available in sizes S-L.
There are also two costumes in the collection for Avatar Jake Sully. The Avatar Jake Classic Adult costume ($29.97) includes a jumpsuit with an attached tail and necklace detailing, a loin cloth, and pair of vinyl ears. The Jake Deluxe Adult costume ($49.97) has a jumpsuit, ears, and a loincloth but adds a detachable holster and an arm guard. Both Jake costumes are available in sizes M, XL, and XXL.
All of the Neytiri and Jake costumes look best with blue body makeup, which is not included.
This release also includes an accessory line with wigs and weapons that fans can use to complete these official Avatar costumes or a home-made cosplay. There are Classic Adult Wigs for both Jake and Neytiri ($14.97 each), which are both full of intricate braids. The Neytiri wig is decorated with beads, while the 11-inch Jake wig has various small braids along the crown.
Finally, fans can get the full Avatar look with the Na’Vi Weapon accessory. This molded plastic knife is 10.5 inches long and features a movie-accurate design.
These Avatar items will be available online, at major retailers, and at Halloween specialty stores around the world this year, further expanding Disguise’s global reach. You can order them now at the links below!
