Pics or it didn’t happen.
We’ve all been there, you’ve been in line for only 15 minutes and you start to wonder “Is it worth it?” There is no avoiding the long lines at comic cons (that we know of, if you do slide into our DMs) but we’re here to take the guesswork out of the waiting game.
These are the can’t-miss activations at this year’s New York Comic Con (NYCC).
Marvel Snap | Booth No. 3919
Hidden on the far end of the show floor is a Thanos-sized setup. You’re greeted by a Daily Bugle and a box that people keep going into and then coming out saying “woah.” Most importantly, the line has little markers that let you know how long you have left. We waited about 15 minutes and indeed left saying “woah.”
When you enter the box you’re greeted with your reflection on all sides, but a screen quickly starts playing to take over the mirrors’ site. It features cards from the mobile game, but I will keep the suspense and leave it at that. You can also play the game when you leave!
Teen Wolf | Booth No. 1101
We waited in line for this for two hours and it’s still on the list so that’s saying something. For us, we had bad timing with multiple Paramount execs cutting ahead of us and some technical difficulties.
Still, it was a fun experience whether you watched the fantasy teen drama or not. You enter the woods, where a werewolf comes to meet you, among other things. Of course, you can get a photo with The Nemeton at the end.
The Dashers | Outside Javits
Shout out to DoorDash for having the most unexpected experience. If you order from DoorDash you’re used to waiting forever so the lines don’t make much of a difference. They were having technical difficulties (we’re spotting a theme for NYCC Day 1), but the photo booth was still working and absolutely worth it.
As someone who doesn’t even like getting her picture taken, the photo booth was fun because it featured “body scanning technology” and made me feel like a hero for just a little bit. When there aren’t WiFi problems, you can also play games and try to win a Dasher jacket.
The Peripheral Forever Fab 3D Print Shop | Booth No. 2557
In celebration of the Amazon original series, this experience features a look into a 3D Print Shop — or so you think. Things quickly turn into a dystopian whirlwind and I’m here for it. The actors really get in on the experience and the tech is very cool. That’s all I’ll say to avoid spoilers.

Honorable Mentions
While not technically activations, there are a ton of anime photo opps you should definitely check out. There’s a life-size Totoro (Booth 2719), the biggest One Piece Luffy you have ever seen (Booth No. 2607), and a bunch of Dragon Ball backgrounds (Booth No. 2301). I also enjoyed the DC Titans photo opp, which is not necessarily worth it for the photo but you get a new pin each day.
Is there anything I missed and we should check out? Let us know!
