If you love anime, chances are you also love Funimation.
The Sony Pictures Television subsidiary was originally founded back in 1994 to bring Dragon Ball Z to America, and it has since grown into a leading global distributor of more than 600 anime titles, providing everything from the FunimationNow streaming service to must-have merch.
Today kicks off a year-long celebration of Funimation’s 25th anniversary, which will include events, exclusive fan offers, and more.
To start off its silver anniversary, Funimation partnered with Funko for the first of many fan exclusives: six silver chrome Funko Pop! figures based on characters from Funimation-licensed titles.
Funimation will reveal the figures one by one over the course of the year. The first figure is Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul, which will be available in limited quantities starting this Friday, May 3, at Fan Expo Dallas. The figure will be available online in the coming weeks.
Fans can keep up to date with the celebration at Funimation’s anniversary microsite or via social media using the hashtag #FUN25.
