Does anything say “I love you” quite like Spider-Man popping out of a gift box and saying “Have an Amazing day?” Perhaps Bob Ross popping out of a gift box and saying “You’re a masterpiece!”
This is the premise of Popsies, a new line from Funko. These giftable collectible figures will take the pop culture merch company into the greetings aisle for the first time. Popsies offer an interactive experience: Each one features a character standing atop a gift box. Press the bow on that gift box, and a themed message will pop up: “Oh Snap!” from Thanos, “Have a killer day” from Freddy Fazbear, and so on.
Starting next year, Funko will offer Popsies for various everyday occasions, along with holiday-specific styles (beginning with Valentine’s Day). These collectibles will be available exclusively at Walmart stores for $6.98 each. So far, the characters set to appear in this series include favorites from Marvel, DC Comics, and Five Nights at Freddy’s, along with Bob’s Big Boy and Bob Ross.
