Drop everything, Venkman. We’ve got a new edition of Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed for the Nintendo Switch.
Switch players can preorder IllFonic’s Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition, a digital edition of the video game that includes all four DLCs and the original game, on Sept. 28. Fans can also expect a physical edition of the 4-vs.-1 video game from Nighthawk Interactive later this year.

In the game, iconic Ghostbusters characters Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore open the Firehouse for up-and-coming ghost hunters. Play as part of the new generation of Ghostbusters or stir up trouble as a singular ghost! Ghostbusters fans can play the action-packed, asymmetrical shooter game alone with bot-assisted play or with up to four friends.

If you’ve always wanted to hunt ghosts but haven’t had a chance to visit your town’s old abandoned mall, now is your chance. Use a Proton Pack, P.K.E. meter, and RC Trap to locate and destroy the slimy suckers. If giving someone a spook is more your speed, play different ghosts to possess objects, slime other players, and scare the citizens. Players can also unlock customizable features for their character (ghosts included) as they level up.

Switch players can also complete challenges and find spores, mold, and fungus (just like Spengler) to access more unlockable features. As you progress in the game, you’ll visit several locations, including a museum, Ray’s Occult Books, and a multi-leveled prison.
The game is available both online and offline, so you can hunt spirits or be the spirit whenever you want! Just don’t forget to pay Ray and Winston a visit to uncover cutscenes and move through the story arc.
Prospective Ghostbusters can preorder Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition for the Switch starting tomorrow, Sept. 28, but have to wait until next month to hunt or haunt. Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is currently available on Xbox and PlayStation.
