Let the magic come naturally to you with the Harry Potter Magic Caster Wands, a new line of interactive wands from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The wands are powered by smart technology and can be paired with the free Magic Caster Wand app.
By using different motions with the wand, it can connect with Bluetooth and WiFi-connected devices, such as smart TVs, speakers, and light bulbs. In addition to sound effects, users can cast and hear more than 50 spells, including Expelliarmus, Lumos, Expecto Patronum, and Wingardium Leviosa! Wizards in training can unlock these spells through gameplay using the app and their smart device.
There are four wands in the collection, starting with the limited-edition “Heroic” wand, which has bright blue features and is perfect for versatile, confident, and trustworthy wizards and witches. It is limited to just 1,000 pieces and is only available to Harry Potter Fan Club members.
Next is “Honourable,” which has fiery red light-up features. The “Loyal” wand includes bright yellow lights and is best for the wisest and most graceful members of the wizarding world, while the “Defiant” wand is crafted with magnificent green lights. While these four wands aren’t explicitly linked with the four Hogwarts houses, fans will recognize these traits as some of the ones most associated with Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Slytherin.
Each wand costs $149.99 and comes with magical features, including gesture recognition, vibration motors, Bluetooth LE connectivity, a rechargeable battery, and multi-color LED lights, all encased in an interactive wand box (which also serves as a USB charging station) with audio and multi-color illumination. Wizards and witches can even use the dueling functionality feature of the wand and challenge their friends to duels using the app.
The demand for the wand is so high that it is recommended that wizards, witches, and even Muggles preorder theirs ASAP. Members of the Harry Potter Fan Club can preorder any wand design starting tomorrow, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m. ET and general preorders will open on Oct. 21. Orders are expected to ship beginning in early December.
