We all know Darth Vader and Princess Leia, but have you ever heard of Carnor Jax and Jaxxon Rabbit? If you haven’t, you’re about to.
Hasbro is bringing these Star Wars Expanded Universe characters back to life with a new collection of figures in its Black Series line. The 6-inch Publishing Figures all feature the same articulation, accessories, and high-quality deco as the many other figures in the Black Series, but this collection also has some pretty incredible packaging inspired by the original books and comics. The boxes each open like a book and the inside jacket features a short blurb and description about each character.

Fans can look for four new action figures to add to their lineup, including Luke Skywalker as he appears in Heir to the Empire, written by Timothy Zahn and published in 1991. Luke sports an incredible black ensemble — complete with a Jersey Shore-approved muscle tank — and comes with his green lightsaber and Ysalamiri companion. There’s also Darth Maul (Sith Apprentice) from the Star Wars Darth Maul comic published by Dark Horse, and Carnor Jax from the comic series Star Wars Crimson Fire written by Mike Richardson and Randy Stradley.
And the stand-out favorite in the bunch (at least for me) is Jaxxon Rabbit, who made some very scattered appearances in Star Wars content as early as 1977, but really found his footing in 2017 in Star Wars Adventures, a comic series from IDW Publishing. Jaxxon looks like a Bucky O’Hare-esque hybrid creature worth a laugh, but much like Rocket Raccoon, he’s a pretty effective good guy despite his wacky first impression.
The new figures will each retail for $24.99 and will be available for today beginning at 1 p.m. EDT at Hasbro Pulse, Entertainment Earth, Big Bad Toy Store, and Dorkside Toys.Â
