Fire up the Cybertronic Spree and get ready for action!
While a ton of attention has been paid to what’s happening at New York Comic Con (NYCC) this weekend, Hasbro kicked off its Transformers 40th anniversary celebration with new action figures inspired by four decades of battles between the Autobots and Decepticons.
The initial assortment includes the Transformers Retro 40th Anniversary Autobot Blaster & Steeljaw and Transformers Retro 40th Anniversary Decepticon Soundwave, Laserbeak, & Ravage. These figures are inspired by the original G1 releases and feature multiple character-inspired accessories. Soundwave and Blaster each convert from boombox to robot and have push-button chest cassette doors.
In cassette mode, Steeljaw fits in Blaster’s chest while Laserbeak and Ravage fit into Soundwave’s chest.
Both Retro Edition figures are expected to ship on or about February 15, 2024.
Additionally, the Takara TOMY Dramatic Capture Series is a new collector-focused range that celebrates 40 years of Transformers with G1-inspired figures that feature premium deco and details. The line launches with The Decepticon Nemesis Bridge Set. It comes with Megatron, Shockwave, Soundwave, and Laserbeak action figures, and also includes a Captain’s chair and series-inspired weapon accessories.
Hasbro expects the set to ship on or about June 30, 2024. Right now, you can get your preorders in via Hasbro Pulse.
