Basic Fun HP MashEms

Mash’Ems, from Basic Fun, is a line of squishy, stretchy, water-filled collectibles. The line already included characters from many popular fandoms — including Marvel, DC, Disney, and Star Wars — but now Mash’Ems are getting a little more magical with the first series of Harry Potter characters.

Each Harry Potter Mash’Em comes in blind packaging: a black, branded sphere that splits in half to reveal which figure is inside. You can either dispose of the sphere or keep it to store your Mash’Ems.

The first series includes six classic characters from the Wizarding World: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Dobby, Dumbledore, and Lord Voldemort. The characters’ cartoonish renditions are absolutely adorable — even the brooding Dark Lord is really stinkin’ cute.

Dobby is the most unique in the series because his frock glows in the dark. He also stands a bit shorter than the other characters, which is a fun and accurate character detail.

While the rubber characters would make a cute display, the Mash’Ems have added value as a great fidget toy for any age. They are the perfect size to fit in the palm of your hand and can withstand a lot of squishing and stretching.

As you handle the Mash’Ems, the sticky rubber will pick up a decent amount of dust and dirt. However, you can get the figures clean again by running them under water.

By design, the characters aren’t incredibly detailed or high quality, but their $2.99 price point more than compensates for that. Available now at Walmart, these make for a great impulse buy or an easy gift for any Harry Potter fan.
