If the events of 2020 made you expect Godzilla to come back next year — you’re almost right.
While it’s not quite the city-shattering comeback you expected, next spring IDW Publishing and Toho International will re-introduce Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah, and dozens of kaiju to IDW’s line of comic books and add the ferocious gang to graphic novels, trade collections, art books, coloring books, journals, tabletop games, and puzzles.
IDW and Toho International have been partners in monster-fighting action since IDW first introduced Godzilla into a comic book in 2011. The new series of monstrous mediums will debut with a five-issue miniseries by writer Erik Burnham, artist Dan Schoening, and colorist Luis Antonio Delgado. The first issue will stomp into stores in April and the comic will be aimed at middle-grade readers.
Godzilla and his enemies will fight their way across all of the artforms, with options available for young readers and adults. Fans will be able to find them anywhere pop culture products are sold, including digital retailers.
