After a few attempts in Bruce Wayne’s shoes in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Justice League, Ben Affleck is officially giving up his cape.

Affleck made an appearance in the hot seat on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he confirmed that he will not be returning as the superhero.

“I tried to direct a version of it, worked with a really good screenwriter but kinda couldn’t come up with a version, couldn’t crack it, and so I thought it was time to let someone else take a shot at it,” Affleck tells Kimmel.

Matt Reeves is taking over as writer and director, and as for Batman himself, our vote is with Jon Hamm.

The Batman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
