You ready?! Konami Cross Media NY is licensing board games based on the Konami video games from the ’80s and ’90s: Contra and Bomberman.
Blacklist Games is developing a cooperative board game based on the original Contra video game, featuring tactical, card-driven gameplay and detailed miniatures of the heroes, enemies, and environments from the game. The board game is expected to launch in North America next spring. The original Contra video game was first released as a coin-operated arcade game in 1987.
IDW Games is developing Bomberman board games, card games, puzzles, and collectible pins, with the board game launching later this year. Bomberman originally launched in 1997 for NES as an action-packed video game. The newest version, Super Bomberman R, launched in 2017 exclusively on Nintendo Switch and is now available on Xbox and PlayStation 4.
