Sushi and Nintendo lovers, get your chopsticks ready! Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is adding Nintendo’s Pikmin to its lineup.
The popular Japanese sushi chain has more than 60 U.S. locations and is known for its fun partnerships. While a Pikmin is only about the size of a bite of sushi, they have a big collab coming to the restaurant. Starting Oct. 3, guests can enjoy exclusive Pikmin themed collectibles, décor, and menu items.
Pikmin are known for being highly adaptable to any environment, so it is no surprise they are now at a sushi chain. The Bikkura Pon Prize system is a huge part of the chain’s charm. When guests pick a plate off the revolving belt and eat from it, they then insert the empty plate into the disposal slot at their table, with a screen keeping count as they go. After 15 plates have been put in the slot throughout the meal, the system dispenses a random capsule right to the table. The capsules have a surprise in them, and this time it is Pikmin collectibles! Fans will find Pikmin-themed keychains, magnetic bookmarks, and phone mounts.
The Pikmin era of Kura goes beyond the capsule surprises at the table. For fans eager to get even more from the collaboration, there will be a limited-edition menu including the Blue Pikmin Cheesecake, Yellow Pikmin Cheese Tamago, and Red Pikmin Crunchy Roll. Kura Sushi reward members will be eligible to receive a Pikmin x Kura Sushi t-shirt.
The collaboration runs through Dec. 2. To find a location near you, visit kurasushi.com.
