It’s time to celebrate the birthday of a Sanrio icon!
Everyone knows Hello Kitty, but the mischievous Kuromi is also a fan favorite through and through. Her spooky punk looks, troublemaking nature, and cute design make for a character that’s hard to forget. Kuromi’s birthday is on Halloween — which is very fitting for the character — and Sanrio is making sure to bring a full celebration. This spooky season, you can enjoy Kuromi in new merch, videos, and more!

To start, the Sanrio online store has a full assortment of new Kuromi-themed goodies. The Mystic Mansion series is available now and the Fancy Ribbon Series will be launching on Friday, Oct. 13. Each collection includes Kuromi plush, accessories, and more.
Build-A-Bear is also getting some new Kuromi content, with new plushies ready to be your best buds. Hot Topic will never miss an opportunity to appreciate a punk character, so it is bringing a full My Melody x Kuromi collection to its stores.
To round out the new merch offerings, fans who are headed to New York Comic Con (NYCC) can enjoy a Kuromi meet-and-greet on Oct. 13 and see the reveal of MetaZoo Games’ Kuromi’s Cryptid Carnival trading card game.
Kuromi will also be front and center for new YouTube content throughout the month, including a multi-part Halloween-themed episode of Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures. Recipes, crafts, and more mean you can follow along and host your own Kuromi party.
Finally, video games are getting Kuromi-fied. The My Hello Kitty Cafe on Roblox will have Kuromi decor, outfits, and more. And the app Hello Kitty Island Adventure will release themed content, such as outfits and furniture.
