?S.O.S.? The original Iron Man suit has gone missing. While the Avengers are off fighting Thanos, LAPD is on the case.
Police are investigating the disappearance of the original Iron Man suit, donned by Robert Downey Jr. in the 2008 film that kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), from a warehouse in Los Angeles, officials said Wednesday morning. The iconic red and gold suit, valued at $325,000, vanished from an LA prop storage warehouse located in the Pacoima neighborhood sometime between February and late April, according to Officer Christopher No, a spokesman for the LAPD.
It was reported missing Tuesday, as employees at the warehouse “just happened to check” and noticed the costume wasn’t there. The LAPD’s Foothill Division is currently on the case.
Marvel referred questions about the missing suit to Walt Disney Studios. Disney did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday, according to the LA Times.
The suit missing is from the first Iron Man film, according to the LAPD. Thankfully, Tony Stark has enjoyed numerous upgrade since then, and other costumes have been used in subsequent movies related to the Avengers franchise. Check out more of Iron Man’s looks here.Â
