Since 1999, LEGO has been launching building sets of all of our favorite Star Wars ships, buildings, and moments. Twenty-five years later we’re still loving every bit of it. The company is celebrating 25 years of LEGO Star Wars with new sets and more!
The 25th-anniversary sets include a new Starship Collection featuring the Millennium Falcon, the Invisible Hand, two sets inspired by the Tantive IV (one of the ship itself and the other featuring the iconic hallway from A New Hope), and a new version of R2-D2. DK’s LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary will also get a new update with an exclusive new minifigure and is currently available for preorder and will come out in April.
Spielwarenmesse visitors in Nuremberg, Germany will be able to check out a 1:1 LEGO version of R2-D2 made with more than 27,000 LEGOs. The build will travel across Europe and the U.S. throughout the year so you can see it for yourself. LEGO Star Wars fans can also take part in the LEGO Star Wars 25-Second Film Festival by creating their favorite Star Wars moments using building sets and minifigures, which launches on March 1.
The new LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary sets are available for preorder now at LEGO.com/star-wars and will be available from March 1 at LEGO stores, LEGO.com, and select retailers.
Whether you’ve been dreaming of building the LEGO Death Star since you were a little kid or are just starting your LEGO Star Wars adventure, LEGO’s celebrations will be fun for everyone!
