Lenovo and Marvel teamed up to release the new smartphone-powered augmented reality (AR) game Marvel Dimension of Heroes for the Lenovo Mirage AR.
Fans of the franchise can play as one of six legendary Marvel superheroes in a new story, kicking the butts of infamous bad guys. They’ll take on the roles, powers, and weapons of Doctor Strange, Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Star-Lord in three different play modes: story, survival, and co-op. Players slide their phones into the Lenovo Mirage AR headset to embark on the adventure, and use the new dual Universal Controllers to battle super villains.
“Lenovo Mirage AR with Marvel Dimension of Heroes is another milestone demonstrating Lenovo and Marvel’s shared passion for bringing rich, immersive consumer experiences to life through smarter technology,” Johnson Jia, senior vice president and general manager of consumer business of intelligent devices group at Lenovo, said in a statement. “After years of close collaboration with Disney, starting from Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, we’re excited to expand this incredibly fun and interactive experience for more gamers and especially Marvel fans to enjoy.”
In story mode, Doctor Strange turns back time to have a second chance to protect Earth following a surprise attack from the Dread Dormammu. Players will fight the Lord of the Dark Dimension and his alliance of super villains, including Loki, Ronan the Accuser, Ultron Prime, and the Winter Soldier, to prevent the destruction of the planet.
They can also play in survival mode, in which players take on the powers of the superheroes to fend off waves of enemies while competing to achieve the highest score and scale the ranks of the game’s online global leaderboards.
Finally, in co-op mode, players team up with a friend to face off with evil forces while competing against each other for the highest score. Just please don’t punch your fellow Avenger during gameplay.
Players can also jump from the Marvel world into the galactic universe of the Jedi Knights with this new Lenovo Mirage AR release. They can use the universal controllers to battle with computer-generated lightsabers, rather than the previously sold lightsaber controllers.

The latest Lenovo Mirage AR pack comes with a headset, dual universal controllers, and the tracking beacon for motion control. The set and mobile games are compatible with several iOS and Android devices, which are listed on its website. The headset uses inside-out positional tracking enabled by two built-in, fisheye sensors to detect players’ movements while the controllers, which are worn over players’ knuckles and have control buttons, track hand and wrist motions during offensive and defensive moves.

Marvel Dimension of Heroes and Star Wars: Jedi Challenges are available to download from the App Store and Google Play for free. The Star Wars mobile game will get a free update to add compatibility with the new controllers.
