The ’80s and ’90s are calling, and Loungefly has answered! The pop culture accessories manufacturer is tapping into millennial and Gen X nostalgia with its upcoming slate of loungefly.com releases.
First up, to celebrate the brand’s 40th anniversary, there is a trio of Care Bears accessories. This collection includes a Rainbow Handle Crossbody bag ($40), a Care-A-Lot Castle Mini Backpack ($80), and a matching Care-A-Lot Castle wallet ($40). All three bags feature a light-blue background decorated with a variety of Care Bears characters and related Care Bears imagery — plenty of hearts and rainbows! Inside, all three accessories feature a lining decorated with a Care Bears pattern that incorporates the 40th-anniversary logo.
Another pop-culture classic that’s celebrating its 40th anniversary this year is E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Loungefly has two upcoming accessories inspired by the 1982 Spielberg classic: a glow-in-the-dark mini backpack ($80) and a flap wallet ($40). Both of these accessories feature the titular alien holding the flower pot. The backpack also features ET’s iconic, glowing finger (which glows in the dark); the silhouette of Elliott’s bike in front of the moon; and the phrase “I’ll be right here” on the back.

Finally, for the ’90s kids, there is an upcoming set of Blues Clues accessories. They include a mini backpack that looks like Blue ($80) and a zip-around wallet designed to look like the Handy Dandy Notebook ($40). The backpack’s interior lining has a pattern made up of imagery from the original show.
