Last year, Marvel Studios celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a franchise that started with 2008’s Iron Man and completely transformed the movie landscape.
Now, Marvel is hopping on the #10YearChallenge bandwagon by sharing 10-year transformations of some of the original Avengers. Through two tweets, Marvel posted comparison images of seven iconic characters, many of which have been around since the start of the MCU. Then and now images of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and the Marvel logo itself were all on hand for viewers to enjoy.

A majority of the “now” photos are stills from the most recent MCU film, Avengers: Infinity War, while others are pulled from the newly released trailer for Avengers: Endgame. The “before” pictures appear to be from the character’s first appearance in the MCU, with the exception of Fury and Coulson who were taken from the upcoming Captain Marvel.
Here’s to hoping a majority of these characters will be around for the next #10YearChallenge in 2029.
