Forget the Monster Mash — NECA is doing a Monster Mash-up!
Yesterday, as part of its ongoing 31 Nights of Fright product reveals, the collectibles company unveiled plans for a line of Universal Monsters x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) crossover figures that will officially launch next year.
Made in collaboration with Viacom and Universal Brand Development, these 7-inch scale figures will depict TMNT characters as classic horror icons. First up in this spooky lineup is Raphael as Frankenstein’s Monster, which will be available in January.
This version of Raphael maintains many aspects of his signature style, including his red mask and his daggers. However, he’s got plenty of Frankenstein’s Monster-inspired elements mixed in, including the bolts in his neck, the iconic high forehead and black hair, chains, and lightning-bolt shapes as his daggers’ blades. Part of his shell is also patched with a section of sewer grate for a gritty, pieced-together look.
The full collection of TMNT x Universal Monsters figures will be made in NECA’s Ultimate format, complete with a variety of accessories and the collection’s signature fifth-panel packaging that lets collectors remove the figure and put it back without damaging the box.
This new mashup joins NECA’s existing collections of TMNT and Universal Monsters Ultimate figures. Head to necaonline.com to see more!
