Netflix’s new releases feature more Netflix original shows than acquired titles, according to a report by UK-based research firm Ampere Analysis. Of all the U.S.-available Netflix releases to go live last year, 51 percent were originals, which is double the recorded amount from 2016.

Netflix originals include series, such as Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Stranger Things, and films, such as Bird Box.

Netflix’s 51 percent of original titles towers over the 1 percent originals share at Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. Looks like all the other streaming platforms need to step up their game if they want to offer more unique content that viewers can’t get anywhere else.
